Community Guidelines

ConnectX is a focused space for Indians to practice professional and academic skills together. To keep it useful for everyone, these rules are non-negotiable.

Zero tolerance — instant permanent ban

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form. We report to NCMEC and Indian authorities, preserve evidence, and ban permanently. Don't even joke.
• Sexual content of any kind on camera or in chat. Genital exposure, masturbation, or sexually suggestive behavior = permanent ban.
• Threats of violence against any individual or group.
• Sharing CSAM, deepfakes, or intimate imagery without consent.
• Inciting self-harm or suicide.

Suspension offences (24h to permanent)

• Harassment, slurs, or hate speech based on caste, religion, region, gender, sexuality, or disability.
• Repeatedly disrupting rooms with off-topic content after host warnings.
• Spam or promotional content. ConnectX is not for selling courses, telegram channels, or affiliate links.
• Impersonation of another person, institution, or company.
• Sharing other users' personal info without consent (doxxing).
• Manipulation of the reporting system (false reports).

What's totally fine

• Healthy debate, disagreement, intellectual challenge.
• Mild profanity in casual conversation (within reason).
• Asking dumb questions — that's the point.
• Going slightly off-topic occasionally if the room is relaxed.
• Sharing your project, GitHub, LinkedIn — for genuine networking, not spam.

Host responsibilities

If you host a room, you are the moderator. You can:

• Mute participants who are causing audio issues
• Kick participants who are off-topic or rude
• End the room at any time

You should:

• Set a clear room title that matches what you'll discuss
• Welcome participants when they join
• Steer conversation back on-topic if it drifts too far
• Report serious violations (CSAM, threats) via the 🚩 button — don't just kick

How reports work

Anyone can report any participant via the 🚩 button in a room. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours by our team. Auto-suspension after 3 reports against a user in 24 hours, pending manual review. Serious categories (CSAM suspect, threats) are flagged for immediate escalation and may result in immediate ban + law enforcement notification.

Age requirement

You must be 18 years or older to use ConnectX. We require age self-attestation at signup. Lying about age is grounds for immediate permanent ban and may be illegal depending on your jurisdiction.

If you suspect a user is under 18, report immediately — protecting minors is the highest priority.

Recording is prohibited

Do not record participants without their explicit, informed consent. Doing so may violate the Indian IT Act 2000, GDPR, and other laws. We do not provide a recording feature for this reason. If you believe someone has recorded you without consent, contact us — we preserve participant logs that may help law enforcement.

If someone threatens you on ConnectX, or if you encounter CSAM or other illegal content, contact:

Appeals

If you believe you've been wrongly suspended or banned, email hello@aravindlabs.tech with subject [Appeal]. Include your account email, the date of suspension, and your perspective on what happened. We respond within 7 business days. For zero-tolerance violations (CSAM, threats), bans are permanent and not appealable.
